- ➤ Hart District officials announced that Collyn Nielsen was honored as the 2026 Negotiator of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators at the ACSA Negotiator’s Symposium on Jan. 20 + he was recognized for balancing fiscal responsibility with strong support for staff and students. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Caltrans announced lane closures on I-5 near Castaic for pavement rehabilitation from Jan. 20 to Jan. 23 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.), with one lane in each direction and the southbound Templin Highway off ramp closed, subject to weather or material changes. Hometown Station
- ➤ On Jan. 16, Supervisor Kathryn Barger renamed the Castaic Sports Complex after Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer, who died in the line of duty in Sept. 2023 (a local fourth-generation officer). The county also announced a scholarship to fund youth programs at the complex. SCVNews.com
