  • Community members gathered at Westfield Valencia Town Center on Sunday, Dec. 21 to celebrate the final night of Hanukkah with a collaborative menorah lighting.   • Students pursuing water resource-related degrees can apply for the 2026/27 ACWA Edward G. (Jerry) Gladbach Scholarship offered by SCV Water; applications are accepted until March 1, 2026 and the $5,000 award is open to undergraduates from California colleges.  Hometown Station

  • Santa Clarita residents can recycle real holiday trees and wreaths at three drop-off centers from Friday, Dec. 26 to Saturday, Jan. 10; remove all ornaments and tree stands before drop-off.   • A federal court issued an order for Vallarta Food Enterprises to comply with EEOC subpoenas that investigate whether the chain unlawfully excluded non-Hispanic workers from hiring or promotion — the decision applies to the headquarters now in Santa Clarita and its local stores, with records required for the investigation.  SCVNews.com
