  • Coworkers at Olive Terrace Bar + Grill launched a GoFundMe campaign on December 14 to help with medical bills and living costs for server Richard Sereci, who was hospitalized after a serious car accident.  Hometown Station

  • Pieology (a popular build-your-own pizza chain) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Dec. 14 due to underperforming sales, leading to the shutdown of 17 company-owned units among its 45 locations. The filing reflects pressures from the pandemic and rising costs.  Hometown Station

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On Dec. 14, 1931, a winter storm dropped nearly 9 inches of snow (Newhall) and about 10 inches in Saugus, disrupting travel and drawing visitors eager to experience rare snowfall in Santa Clarita. This historic event remains one of the valley's most remarkable winters.  Hometown Station
