- ➤ Fostering Youth Independence launched its year-end giving campaign ahead of Giving Tuesday on December 2—donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $35,000 to support foster youth aging out of the L.A. County system. The funds will provide tutoring, safe housing and emergency aid to help 85 foster youth in Santa Clarita transition to independent living—ensuring vital support in education and housing. - ➤ On November 29th, 1957 the Mint Canyon Chamber of Commerce incorporated to serve as the leading voice for eastern Santa Clarita’s business community amid local borough rivalry. - ➤ The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation opened the new Riparian Park at 27842 Riparian Ave. in Stevenson Ranch on Nov. 1 with a play day offering crafts, face painting, basketball clinics, board games and jumpers — drawing families to the new green space. The five-acre park includes basketball courts, grassy sports fields and a playground — a spot for local residents to enjoy outdoor play. Hometown Station
