On November 8, 1977, less than 1,000 Castaic voters approved starting junior high classes for about 65 students—shortening bus rides from 10—15 minutes to Saugus.
Officials explained the measure reduced tuition costs and kept schooling closer to home.
TMU Professor William Varner, one of the university’s longest-serving faculty, released a book—Introducing the Apostolic Fathers—that examines early Christian leaders who wrote after the apostles.
