  • Wine Under the Roof will return to Bella Vida on November 6, offering a dining and wine tasting event to raise funds for Hart District education programs—tickets are available until November 4 and will include a wine and appetizer hour, multi-course dinner, live entertainment and auctions.  Hometown Station
  • Santa Clarita residents attended the 36th annual Haunted Jailhouse carnival at the SCV Sheriff’s Station last Sunday, where SCV Boys and Girls Club teens dressed as horror icons delivered jump scares in the old jail.   • Santa Clarita launched its annual Animal Adoption Week on Oct. 27 by partnering with the Castaic Animal Care Center to let residents adopt pets free of adoption fees—adopters only need to pay the licensing fee. The week will end with a community adoption day at William S.   • School Day Cafe hosted a free food festival at Bridgeport Elementary School on Thursday — local families sampled healthy meal options and used a QR code survey to rate their favorites.   • Santa Clarita city council is set to approve the purchase of a 13-acre property (costing $2,656,383) that includes Beale’s Cut, a historic pass carved in the 1860s to speed up travel between valleys.
