- ➤ Santa Clarita was named one of the nation’s safest cities in a WalletHub report released on October 25—its overall score was 63.30 and it ranked 44th overall, with a top ranking of 5th for Home & Community Safety but lower scores in natural-disaster and financial safety risks. Hometown Station
- ➤ PetSmart in Santa Clarita and Stevenson Ranch are hosting a Halloween Trick-Or-Treat Party for pets today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pet owners can dress up their pets and enjoy treat stations, a spritz station, and photo opportunities during the event. Hometown Station
- ➤ At Jocelyne Vuillemey’s home in Valencia on Oct. 23, Dinh Montané and Erika Pigot sewed heart-shaped mastectomy pillows for breast cancer patients—each pillow takes 6 ounces of fiber—to reach a goal of 300 for donation to the Sheila R. - ➤ On Saturday, Oct 25, Santa Clarita residents volunteered for Make a Difference Day by helping at the Food Pantry and other local sites (city initiative) to support essential services. - ➤ Los Angeles County Department of Public Health confirmed the first West Nile virus death of this mosquito season— a resident from the San Fernando Valley just south of Santa Clarita was hospitalized and died from a severe neurological illness. Hometown Station
