EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ College of the Canyons will host its free Fall Star Party on Oct. 24 at the lower plaza next to the Takeda Science Center, where NASA scientist Dr. Athina Peidou will explain how GRACE-FO missions track Earth’s water. The event runs from 6 to 9:30 p.m. and will feature telescope viewing with local astronomy clubs — offering interactive science displays. Hometown Station
- ➤ On Wednesday, the Governing Board honored 18 William S. Hart Union High School District Teachers of the Year, including math teacher Nicholas Patey from Golden Valley High School who was named District Teacher of the Year.
