- ➤ On September 20, 1954, a US Air Force C-46 cargo plane carrying 17 chaplains and three crew members lost an engine after taking off from Burbank and forced everyone to bail out over Bouquet Canyon before crashing on the grounds of the Saugus Rehabilitation Center—then known as the 'Saugus drunk farm'—while survivors landed safely with only minor injuries and a helicopter helped guide them away as three brush fires started on the property. - ➤ Santa Clarita’s 30th Annual River Rally took place Saturday morning along Wiley Canyon Road — where hundreds of volunteers cleaned trash from the Santa Clara River to help preserve it — marking another year of local efforts. The event also featured an Environmental Expo that offered hands-on sustainability activities — with free coffee and breakfast snacks provided — to thank the volunteers. Hometown Station
