- ➤ One person died in a car crash — a Nissan Altima swerved off a small cliff on southbound I-5 near the 405 interchange and ignited a brush fire at 3:17 p.m. Tuesday. Hometown Station

- ➤ Over Labor Day weekend, Santa Clarita police made 48 arrests—including 16 for DUI and eight for domestic violence—with 21 non-residents and 27 locals charged with various felonies and misdemeanors. Hometown Station
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir will host Voices United on October 11 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Santa Clarita with a mass choir workshop from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and a gospel concert at 7:00 PM to help launch a new community choir in response to recent wildfires and social challenges. Singers and music lovers of all levels can register now with workshop tickets priced from $20 to $40 while the concert is free. Hometown Station
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ By mid-summer, California experienced 4,195 wildfires burning 201,295 acres, destroying over 16,333 structures and taking at least 30 lives—reminding Santa Clarita residents to follow the Ready, Set, Go plan by keeping defensible space and preparing an evacuation go-bag.
