  • Circle of Hope will host its Happily Ever Afternoon Tea: Once Upon 21 Years event on October 18 at 11 a.m. at Bella Vida at the SCV Senior Center—an enchanted fundraiser honoring breast cancer survivors that offers a welcome reception with brunch bites and live music followed by a traditional tea service and raffle; tickets cost $99 with an early-bird discount until Sept. 5.  Hometown Station

  • On August 31, 2001, Deputy Jake Kuredjian was fatally shot during a shootout in Stevenson Ranch while helping execute a search warrant & his memory is honored 24 years later.  Hometown Station

  • On Aug. 29, the U.S. District Court ruled that Chiquita Canyon Landfill must work with Los Angeles County to support nearby residents with temporary relocation and home-hardening as the lawsuit continues. County officials said the list of affected homes will be finalized within 30 days—a step toward relief for those dealing with persistent odors and health issues.  SCVNews.com

  • Santa Clarita Christian School's Cardinals lost 41—12 to Avalon's Lancers as only 15 players suited up and the team faced heat-related challenges during the game.
