- ➤ On August 30, 2009, two Los Angeles County firefighters—Captain Tedmund Hall and Firefighter Specialist Arnaldo Quinones—died when their vehicle fell 800 feet off a cliff while they set backfires near Mount Gleason Conservation Camp during the Station Fire that burned more than 160,000 acres. - ➤ Alan Franco died Tuesday at 9:12 a.m. after his black Infiniti caught fire in a rollover crash on Interstate 5 near the Calgrove Boulevard on-ramp on Aug.22—he was aided by a good Samaritan before reaching the hospital. The Santa Clarita Valley Signal

- ➤ Bryce Laspisa has remained missing for 12 years after his car crashed near Castaic Lake—his family still searches for answers. Detective Ethan Smith said an alleged sighting in Missoula was not Bryce. Hometown Station
