- ➤ George Montgomery Letz was born on August 29 in Brady, Montana and grew up as a ranch cowboy before becoming a well-known Western actor and artist. - ➤ The Los Angeles County Library will accept entries for its 46th Annual Bookmark Contest from Sept. 2—Oct. 18, where students in grades K-12 can submit original bookmark designs inspired by reading or libraries.
