- ➤ David March Park will close from Monday, August 18 for planned upgrades that add outdoor exercise equipment, a covered picnic pavilion, a basketball court, a shade structure, and extra parking—a reopening is planned for January. Hometown Station
- ➤ On August 16, 1947, Newhall Hardware opened at 725 Spruce Street in Santa Clarita and quickly became a community hub where residents gathered around its famous peanut barrel for tools and supplies. The business later expanded, moved addresses, and remained in operation until it closed in 2008—its legacy still lives on in the area. Hometown Station
- ➤ On Aug. 16th, the second annual Youth and Family Festival took place at the Canyon Country Community Center where Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo and Strength United hosted free activities like a petting zoo, drum circle, and butterfly encounter—local nonprofits and CHP offered resources such as child seat safety inspections and emergency tips.
