- ➤ Nonprofit leaders in Santa Clarita may submit proposals for Make A Difference Day on Oct. 25 to gain extra local volunteer support — the program aims to boost projects needing community help. SCVNews.com
- ➤ The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station will host another Etch & Catch event at City Hall on Aug. 16 in partnership with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Vehicle Theft Task Force to help prevent catalytic converter theft. - ➤ A man was arrested on felony charges after a verbal argument between him and his sister escalated and he struck her husband with a metal chair on Driftwood Court in Saugus at 2:20 a.m. Sunday (paramedics treated the victim at the scene). Hometown Station

- ➤ Santa Clarita residents have seen more coyotes and mountain lions in neighborhoods as new housing and roads cut off natural corridors that animals need to survive.
