- ➤ Santa Clarita Elementary School closed because a steady drop in enrollment and seismic safety issues made the repair costs ($9 million to $24 million) too high, so students were moved to other schools. - ➤ With school starting, Mayor Bill Miranda told Santa Clarita parents to check that their child’s e-bike has pedals and the proper label so it is legal to ride on streets and trails — some bikes sold as teen-friendly are actually powerful e-motorcycles that break the law.
