- ➤ A Newhall man was arrested on Saturday after he allegedly threatened a victim with a knife at a residence on Railroad Avenue, and deputies charged him (Osvin Pablo-Lopez, 35) with felony assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats (he remains in custody). Hometown Station
- ➤ On Tuesday, deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley station located and recaptured an inmate who had escaped from a Rehabilitation Camp off San Francisquito Canyon Road in Saugus. Hometown Station
- ➤ Law enforcement is searching for an escaped inmate from a CDCR fire camp who was seen near Copper Hill Drive and Haskell Canyon Road Tuesday morning — officials urge residents to secure their homes and report any suspicious activity immediately. The Santa Clarita Valley Signal
- ➤ Deputies and detectives from the Task Force for Regional Auto Theft Prevention will offer catalytic converter etching support from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the event hosted at the Harley-Davidson and L.A. - ➤ The city of Santa Clarita announced the new art show 'In Orbit' at the Newhall Community Center, where visitors can see space-inspired art until Oct 1. - ➤ The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority released the 2025 count results on July 14, showing county homelessness dropped 4% to 72,308 and city numbers fell 3.4% to 43,699. Unsheltered homelessness decreased by 9.5% statewide and 7.9% in the city—while sheltered numbers rose in both areas. Hometown Station
- ➤ Caltrans announced overnight lane reductions on I-5 between Lake Hughes Road and two miles north of Templin Highway from Monday night through Wednesday night for pavement rehabilitation. Lanes will close in stages—one lane at 7 p.m., two at 8 p.m. and three from 11:59 p.m. to 6 a.m.—and the southbound Lake Hughes Boulevard off-ramp will close from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night as lanes reopen every morning.
