ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Firefighters responded to a brush fire on Friday night in the Halsey Canyon area of Castaic near power lines; reports said the fire, sparked by fireworks near 30753 Burlwood Drive, burned about 1 acre and threatened to expand.  Hometown Station

CRIME NEWS

  • On Friday night a small brush fire broke out near 18504 Olympian Court in Canyon Country — officials suspect illegal fireworks sparked the blaze — and the Los Angeles County Fire Department quickly contained it with no injuries or property damage reported.  Hometown Station
  • On Friday evening, deputies detained multiple suspects at gunpoint on suspicion of robbery near Bouquet Canyon Road and Newhall Ranch Road after receiving a call from Macy’s at the mall—no injuries were reported.  The Santa Clarita Valley Signal
  • No arrests have been made after deputies responded at 10:30 a.m. Friday to an armed robbery at the Smoke Depot and Vapor Lounge in Valencia when an employee reported a suspect (in his 30s) pointed a gun and demanded money; the man fled in a gray Hyundai Sonata (possibly headed toward Interstate 5) without taking any money or injuring anyone.  The Santa Clarita Valley Signal
