- ➤ The City of Santa Clarita will break ground on the Haskell Canyon Bike Park next Tuesday, July 1, at 10 a.m.—the new park in Haskell Canyon Open Space will offer over 15 miles of mountain biking trails and world-class amenities with construction expected to finish in Winter. Hometown Station
- ➤ On Wednesday’s warm summer evening, Santa Clarita unveiled River of Lights at Central Park where nearly 2,000 residents gathered to enjoy live music and a flag raising. County firefighters were dispatched at 1:10 p.m. on June 26 to a brush fire in Val Verde after a fire training exercise ignited nearby brush and arrived at 1:11 p.m. to find a 1-acre blaze in medium fuels that may expand to 10 to 20 acres (the fire originated at the Del Valle Regional Training Center).
