  • On July 4, Santa Clarita will host a full day of events beginning with a pancake breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Main St in Newhall & the Independence Day Classic race at 7:15 a.m., followed by a parade at 9 a.m. that celebrates the opening of Hart Park and concludes with fireworks shows at Stevenson Ranch, Valencia Town Center, and Six Flags Magic Mountain.  The Santa Clarita Valley Signal
  • Santa Clarita's Elks Lodge hosted a Flag Day dinner on June 13 where Young Marines and Boy Scouts presented each flag during their historical presentation on the American Flag. CRIME NEWS

  • CHP officers in Acton found a dead body in the roadway (near the northbound 14 Freeway and Sierra Highway off-ramp) after responding to a solo vehicle crash report at 1 a.m. on June 22, and they have not yet confirmed the victim’s identity or the cause of the collision.  Hometown Station

  • On June 22nd, 1972, Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park was named a National Natural Landmark by the National Park Service — a title that honors its unique geology and role in the area's deep history — marking a key moment in local conservation.  Hometown Station
