County Parks announced a $22.2 million budget reduction that will cut services at parks such as Castaic Lake State Recreation Area—measures include regional parks closing on Mondays and Tuesdays starting June 30 and a reduction of the summer pool season to 11 weeks. Additional staffing and administrative cuts will further alter park operations to maintain core programs for families and seniors.
