- ➤ On June 2, 2025, CHP officers stopped a wrong-way driver on the 14 Freeway near Escondido Canyon Road after she evaded a traffic stop, and today they detained a second suspect sleeping near the Agua Dulce Canyon Road exit who had an outstanding warrant and was taken to the hospital for heat injury—officials say he is now receiving treatment. - ➤ Deputy Trevor Kirk, a man from Valencia, received a four-month prison sentence and one year of probation on Monday after a federal conviction for using excessive force during a theft at a Lancaster grocery store—his lawyer said he will file an appeal once the court proceedings conclude later this week.
