  • On May 26, 1956, a crowd gathered near Newhall to dedicate what is now Placerita Canyon Natural Area — a park that honors the legend of Don Francisco Lopez and its ties to California’s early gold rush. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Authorities responded to a half-acre brush fire (dubbed the Bouquet Fire) near Calypso Lane and Lakemore Drive in Canyon Country on Monday afternoon and stopped the fire by 1:34 p.m. after dispatch at 1:11 p.m. and arrival at 1:15 p.m., with no injuries or property damage reported.  The Santa Clarita Valley Signal

  • Include Everyone Project SCV has announced its adaptive performing arts summer camp Level Up, which will run in June at Cube Ice and Entertainment Center (27745 Smyth Drive, Valencia) and end with a public performance at Newhall Family Theater on June 27. The camp offers two sessions (ages 3–5 with a $75 fee and ages 5 and up with a $125 fee per week) and registration is now open.  SCVNews.com
