  • Santa Clarita Community Centers are launching summer programs this season across Newhall, Canyon Country, and Valencia sites. They will offer youth camps, creative classes, hands-on workshops, and drop-in activities for adults and seniors, giving residents a chance to try new hobbies and stay connected.  SCVNews.com
  • Memorial Day ceremonies held yesterday honored fallen service members as families and veterans observed flags at half-staff from sunrise until noon and took part in the National Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m.—a clear tribute to those who sacrificed for their country.  Hometown Station

  • On May 12, the Newhall School District board approved renewing the Los Angeles County Safety and Security Services contract at a cost of $41,876 (plus $15,900 for patrolling) after a report detailed 28 service calls and a drop in school incidents.  The Santa Clarita Valley Signal

  • A pitching rule violation forced Rio Mesa to forfeit their extra inning win, giving Saugus a 1-0 official victory in the Division 4 playoffs. The team will face Glendora today (3:15 p.m.).  SCVNews.com
  • On May 13, Santa Clarita Christian School honored five student-athletes who signed National Letters of Intent to pursue college sports & studies.
