- ➤ Local residents heard a loud boom and saw a fiery streak on Saturday night when SpaceX's Dragon reentered Earth's atmosphere over the Santa Clarita Valley — the unpiloted spacecraft was set to splash down near Oceanside at 10:44 p.m. A SpaceX social media post and subsequent user reports confirmed the unusual event, which followed a cargo delivery mission to the space station. - ➤ Mission Opera and Bella Cucina Italian Restaurant announced a new monthly event called Bella Notte that will begin this Fall in Santa Clarita. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Santa Clarita native Kendall Fortner, 24, was one of six people killed when a private plane crashed into a San Diego neighborhood on Thursday. Hometown Station
- ➤ Four people—two adults and two children—were hospitalized after a severe crash involving a black pickup truck on northbound I-5 near Hasley Canyon Road in Castaic on May 25 at 1:06 p.m., with two children airlifted to Northridge as authorities continue investigating the cause. Hometown Station

- ➤ On May 25th, 1966, the Mustang Drive-In opened on Soledad Canyon Road in historic Honby — now part of Canyon Country — and featured a double bill of Last of the Secret Agents? and Night of the Grizzly.
