- ➤ Scott Petri, 57, of Valencia, died after jumping off a bridge onto the 5 Freeway on Friday at about 9:45 p.m.—witnesses said he was seen on the Weldon Canyon overpass before he was struck by a vehicle and his parked car was found nearby. Hometown Station
- ➤ On Saturday, an allegedly intoxicated man assaulted a CHP officer during a DUI investigation near the Castaic Sports Complex Aquatic Center — he was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital and then booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station for DUI and assault. Hometown Station
