- ➤ On May 10th, 1877, local leaders started the Newhall School District at a small rail stop to serve 53 local children during a hard drought, and a modest schoolhouse was built that later had to be rebuilt after fires. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Nearly 40 students from the William S. Hart Union High School District will host a robot showcase at West Ranch High School from 1 to 3 p.m. on May 17 — they will demonstrate a robot built in over 150 hours and invite others to learn about the STEM club. The Santa Clarita Valley Signal
