  • KHTS Restaurant Row highlights local favorites like Booku Poboys, Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt, and Guanatos Tacos with half-price certificates on meals and services this May. Online sales open Friday, May 1st at midnight and in-person sales start at 9 a.m. at the new KHTS Office — in Valencia.  Hometown Station
  • Burlington will open a new store in Centre Pointe Village on Friday, May 8 at 7:45 a.m. with a ribbon cutting, and the first 100 customers on May 8 and 9 will get a $10 bonus card (the event will also include a $5,000 donation to Rio Vista Elementary School).  SCVNews.com

EDUCATION NEWS

  • College of the Canyons is accepting registrations for summer sessions running June 8 to August 15 at its Valencia and Canyon Country campuses and online, offering over 590 class sections and 120 free career courses—high school students may earn dual credit with waived fees while others pay $46 per unit.  Hometown Station

HEALTH NEWS

  • A 2-month-old infant experienced a medical emergency after an accidental fall on Providence Court in Santa Clarita at 9:20 a.m. Thursday, April 30 and was airlifted by first responders to a specialty hospital where the child is stable.  Hometown Station

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • After KHTS raised concerns over the Hartwell project, the development is now for sale in Old Town Newhall — including the KHTS building Serrano does not own. A Los Angeles-based brokerage set the price at $7.5 million for an entitled project covering 43,518 sqft along Main Street and Railroad Avenue.  Hometown Station

SPORTS NEWS

  • Registration is open for the 2026 COC Summer Volleyball Camp for ages 8-14. Camp sessions run July 20-23 and July 27-30 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Cougar Cage in the West P.E. Gymnasium on the Valencia campus, with early bird discounts for registrations submitted by May 31.  SCVNews.com
  • Softball player Jeniece Jimenez from College of the Canyons was named to the All-Southern California team by the CCFCFA and earned her second All-WSC, South Division honor. Her performance helped the Cougars secure playoffs and she will face No. 2 Cerritos College today at 2 p.m.  SCVNews.com
  • The No. 16 College of the Canyons softball team moved on after defeating Moorpark College 5-2 at Whitten Field on Tuesday, April 28. The Cougars will face Cerritos College in a best-of-three series starting today at 2 p.m.  SCVNews.com
  • College of the Canyons golf team won its 15th straight title on Apr. 27 at Sundale Country Club, with Anthony Nilson earning the individual championship with 720 strokes; the team will play in the 3C2A Southern California Regional Championships (Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura) May 3 and 4.  SCVNews.com
  • The Master’s University Mustangs men’s volleyball team advanced to the NAIA semifinals after a 3-set win in pool play, with standout efforts from Trace Oswald and Isaac Seltzer — head coach Jared Goldberg praised the team as they prepare for a rematch with the Saint Xavier Cougars.  SCVNews.com
