- ➤ On April 28, 1943, Rancho Camulos owner August Alexander *Buddy* Rübel was killed when his ambulance hit a German land mine in North Africa during WWII. His family now preserves the property as a museum offering weekend tours and scenic wedding venues. Hometown Station

- ➤ The Valley Industry Assocation will host a luncheon on May 19 at 11:45 a.m. at the Child and Family Center (Education Center) featuring Dr. Jasmine Ruys of the College of the Canyons to discuss designing the future workforce. - ➤ Michael Nobili, a Castaic High School senior, completed his Eagle Scout project at Carousel Ranch in Agua Dulce by adding a concrete pad, shoeing stock, and fixed railings for a facility serving children and young adults. - ➤ On Friday, April 24, the Master’s University beach volleyball team ended its season in the NAIA quarterfinals in Mesa (Ariz) after losing 3-1 to Southern Oregon, finishing with a 25-3 record. Coach Annett Davis praised the players’ hard work and growth throughout the tournament. SCVNews.com
