  • Incoming SUSD superintendent Dr. Robert Hernandez began building connections with staff, parents and community members last Thursday in Santa Clarita by hosting meet-the-superintendent events ahead of his official July 1 start; he emphasized listening to learn about the district’s culture and history.  Hometown Station
  • California Institute of the Arts in Valencia was named on Graphic Design USA’s 2026 list of top design schools for blending craft, innovation, and critical thinking to prepare students for evolving creative industries. SPORTS NEWS

  • The Saugus boys lacrosse team finished an undefeated Foothill League season with a 15-11 win over West Ranch on Wednesday, clinching their sixth league title. They now await playoff seeding as they prepare to move up to Division 1.  Hometown Station
  • Foothill League softball games were rescheduled after weather moved all April 21 contests, leaving standings unchanged. Saugus, West Ranch, Hart, Valencia, Castaic, Canyon and Golden Valley are set to play critical games from April 27 through May 6 — the final stretch may affect playoff positions.  SCVNews.com
