- ➤ Memorial services for longtime Santa Clarita attorney Richard Patterson, who died April 6 of natural causes at age 81, will be held Tuesday, April 21 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (24443 McBean Parkway) in Valencia, with a public viewing from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., a funeral service at 1 p.m. and a graveside service at 3 p.m. Hometown Station

- ➤ On Apr. 12, 1928, one month after the deadly dam disaster, the Los Angeles Times published a coroner’s jury verdict ruling that the St. Francis Dam collapse deaths were accidental — citing engineering and policy failures. Hometown Station
