  • Circle of Hope is hosting its annual Vine2Wine event on Friday, March 28 at Bella Vida Senior Center with wine, food and fundraising for cancer support. Tickets are selling quickly — organizers urge community members to secure their spots soon.  Hometown Station
  • Castaic Animal Care Center is preparing for a surge in adoptable pets after a Lake Hughes rescue operation recovered 250 dogs and 66 cats. The shelter extended hours over the weekend to help find homes as more animals are expected in the coming weeks.  Hometown Station

  • William Edwin (Ed) Pardee was born on March 22, 1851 in Meadville, Pennsylvania and later moved to Newhall as opportunities in oil prompted him to pioneer local industry, serve as a constable, and join community gatherings that shaped the Santa Clarita Valley.  Hometown Station

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The William S. Hart Union High School District announced that seven local high school seniors have been named National Merit Scholarship Finalists, ranking among the nation’s top students. They met rigorous PSAT standards and strong academic and extracurricular performance, making them eligible for National Merit Scholarships.  Hometown Station
