  • Metrolink will temporarily reduce service beginning Monday due to mechanical issues and a shortage of replacement parts, affecting most lines except the Riverside and Arrow services.   • LA County Animal Care and Control served a search warrant at Rock N Pawz Animal Rescue in Lake Hughes on Friday, March 20, seizing 700 dogs and cats and mobilizing over 70 staff and rescue partners to triage and rehome the animals (with adoptions planned at local centers).  SCVNews.com

EDUCATION NEWS

  • College of the Canyons (COC) narrowed its search for a permanent superintendent-president to four candidates amid discussions on improving financial oversight after past concerns.   • City officials said unauthorized dirt bike riding in the Haskell Canyon Bike Park construction zone damaged trails and delayed the park's opening, warning riders that violations will be enforced + help protect the project timeline at 21450 Copper Hill Dr.  Hometown Station

SPORTS NEWS

  • The CIF Southern Section data shows playoff games have grown closer in winter sports such as basketball and soccer over the past four seasons. The section also announced that starting next school year its Masters Wrestling Tournament will be renamed in honor of Dr. John S. Dahlem.  SCVNews.com
  • Trinity won a 7-3 game against Castaic on Thursday afternoon and overcame a 40-minute delay from heat before securing the win.  Hometown Station
  • West Ranch Wildcats defeated the Canyon Cowboys 14-4 on March 19 at Canyon High School (the game saw a six-run rally in the third inning) as head coach Michael Merrilees said the team will carry the momentum into Tuesday’s home contest.  The Santa Clarita Valley Signal
