  • The City of Santa Clarita is hosting SENSES Block Party on the third Thursday of every month from April to September, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Main Street in Old Town Newhall. Residents can enjoy themed nights, live music + food trucks at this immersive celebration.  Hometown Station

CULTURE NEWS

  • On March 15, 1942, Emery M. Whilton opened the Florafaunium in Lebec to display hundreds of taxidermied animals and 1,700 wildflower varieties native to California. Kern County later acquired the collection (purchased for $10,000) and moved it to the Kern County Museum.  Hometown Station

SPORTS NEWS

  • Golden Valley senior Donovan Webb was named the Foothill League Player of the Year after leading the Grizzlies to their first league title since 2009 (he averaged 15 points, 6.1 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game).  Hometown Station
  • The Master’s University men's and women's swim teams earned four national titles this month in Elkhart — with record-breaking wins in individual events and the 400 free relay by a sophomore and transfer athletes. Their achievements mark program milestones, boosting the total to 25 NAIA championships.  Hometown Station
