- ➤ Historical records show that on March 13, 1882, Santa Clarita Valley founder Henry Mayo Newhall died in San Francisco after a fall from his horse led to a serious infection; Newhall, originally from Massachusetts, helped shape the area by purchasing the Rancho that later became Newhall. - ➤ The city invites residents and visitors to the revived SENSES Block Party + an immersive nightlife event with new themes on Main Street in Old Town Newhall, promising a unique local celebration. SCVNews.com

- ➤ LASD issued a threat alert regarding potential Iranian UAV attacks on the West Coast and is increasing patrols near local places of worship to keep residents safe. - ➤ Valencia sophomore Kamilla Basyrova was named Foothill League Player of the Year after averaging 19.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and breaking her season 3-point record with 115 made shots. Valencia led the league with six selections across First, Second, and honorable mention teams. Hometown Station
- ➤ On Mar. 12, Hart High School's Hawks won a walk-off softball game against Canyon when sophomore Hannah Cook hit a decisive home run. The team, now 4-4, will face the Valencia Vikings at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday at Valencia High School. The Santa Clarita Valley Signal
- ➤ Foothill League softball started on March 12, with six teams playing and one team set to begin on March 17. Upcoming games are scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on March 17 and March 19 at various local fields & feature competitive matchups. SCVNews.com
