  • Taste of Town, a Santa Clarita foodie fundraiser for Child & Family Center, will be held at SoCal Innovation Park on Sunday, May 3 (1-5 p.m.) and will feature tastings, live music, and auctions. Tickets are on sale at $125 for general admission and $150 for VIP seating.  Hometown Station
  • The Santa Clarita Public Library will host One Story One City, an all-month community reading program that begins on Friday, March 6 with The Music Shop: A Literary Listening Experience (24266 Main St.).   • On March 2, 1938, heavy rains caused a major flood that washed away homes and damaged the Saugus Rodeo grounds in the area, leading to changes in flood control. The disaster drastically reshaped local infrastructure & spurred future safety improvements.  Hometown Station

  • Drivers on the 14 pass Acton to see fields of poppies that brighten the hills as wildflower season unfolds at the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve; visitors can explore eight miles of trails plus visit the Jane S.   • The Master's University men's volleyball team won in straight sets against Soka University on Friday, Feb. 27 at The MacArthur Center, improving their record to 8-0.  SCVNews.com
  • College of the Canyons baseball held off a late-inning comeback by Oxnard College to win 8-7 at Mike Gillespie Field on Tuesday, Feb. 24.  SCVNews.com
  • Three Santa Clarita basketball programs advanced to the CIF State Championships as the Valencia girls will face No. 5 Centennial today at 5 p.m., the Saugus girls will host Lincoln in Division 2 play, and the Canyon boys will play their first state home game.  Hometown Station
  • On Feb. 27, the Master’s University Mustangs beat Hope International 78-73 by turning turnovers into points — a move that helped them win — and they hosted No. 4 seed Benedictine Mesa in the GSAC championship on March 2 at The MacArthur Center in Santa Clarita.  SCVNews.com
  • Trinity’s sophomore Noa Peña earned Heritage League Player of the Year honors in girls’ basketball after averaging 21.4 points per game while helping her team complete an 8–0 league record this winter season.
