  • Maxwell, a 4-year-old, 50-pound pitsky, faces a 72-hour adoption deadline at Castaic Animal Care Center after his owner left the country. Shelter staff say he needs an adult-only home with no other pets and is available Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m.+ 5 p.m. at 31044 N+ Charlie Canyon Road.  Hometown Station

  • Local mental health professionals and advocates met virtually last Thursday to review suicide data showing that more than one third of the 29 annual incidents involved residents aged 60 and older.   • College of the Canyons men's basketball ended its postseason run with a 76-60 loss to San Bernardino Valley College on Wed, Feb. 25 in the opening round of the SoCal Regional playoffs. The team has not reached the postseason since the 2017-18 season.  SCVNews.com
