  • City Manager Ken Striplin recorded a new episode of Santa Clarita Voices at The Barnyard at William S. EDUCATION NEWS

  • The William S. Hart High School District announced that its students ranked eighth statewide and second in Southern California based on 11th grade ELA and math scores, with 75.44% meeting or exceeding standards.   • Gary Kodel urged officials to hold a public outreach on any changes to the oak ordinance, stressing the oak tree’s role on the city seal and local ecosystem.   • College of the Canyons women's tennis won a 5-4 home victory over defending state champion American River College on Saturday, Feb. 14 — extending its four-match win streak.  SCVNews.com
  • Valencia and Saugus girls' basketball teams will compete in the CIF-SS championships Friday at Toyota Arena, with Valencia set to face La Salle at 8 p.m. and Saugus to meet Crescenta Valley at 6 p.m. The teams secured their spots with wins over Windward and Camarillo.  Hometown Station
