ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Early Wednesday morning, CHP responded to a call about a mountain lion cub lying in the roadway near Hillcrest Parkway and Olympic Street in Castaic and notified Fish and Wildlife while officers watched the cub walk away and later run into a backyard.  Hometown Station

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Legacy Lions secured a narrow 61-60 win against the Loyola Cubs on Tuesday night as JR Mosley scored 22 points and Xzavier Miller added 14. The boys’ team, now the highest-ranked in the Santa Clarita Valley, will face the Crescenta Valley Falcons next Saturday.  The Santa Clarita Valley Signal
  • Santa Clarita girls basketball teams are set for key games in the Foothill and Heritage Leagues on Thursday and Friday at local venues—Saugus High and Newhall Church. Saugus meets Valencia at 5 p.m. in a pivotal Foothill contest as teams battle for league standings and pride.  Hometown Station
