Spend a weekend at Pure Land Farms celebrating ten years of Sky Press Publications, with teachings from Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, book signings, Tibetan arts and ritual, Sowa Rigpa healing workshops, music, and meditation!

Nearly nine centuries ago, Yuthok Yönten Gönpo devoted his life to relieving suffering through medicine and spiritual practice. He codified his medical knowledge in the Four Medical Tantras and transmitted the spiritual instructions of the Yuthok Nyingthig to his disciples, who passed them to successive lineage holders.

Ten years ago, Dr. Nida, a holder of that lineage, founded Sky Press to carry Yuthok’s teachings to readers today, allowing this knowledge to cross generations, languages, and cultures.

This year, in Yuthok’s auspicious Fire Horse year, Sky Press celebrates a decade of bringing these teachings to students, practitioners, and new readers around the world.

We invite you to celebrate this work with us, bring these books to life through teachings and practice, and share aspirations for the years ahead!

Founded in the Fire Monkey year of 2016 by Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, traditional Tibetan physician, author, and lineage holder of the Yuthok Nyingthig, Sky Press has established itself as one of the leading publishers on traditional Tibetan healing practices. Over the past decade, its catalog of books and translations has brought these teachings to students, practitioners, and general readers around the world. As the publishing branch of the Sowa Rigpa Institute of Tibetan Medicine, Sky Press is devoted to preserving and transmitting Yuthok Yönten Gönpo's two heart treasures: Sowa Rigpa, offering a complete path to health, and the Yuthok Nyingthig, the spiritual heart of Tibetan medicine and a direct path to awakening.

Dr. Nida Chenagtsang

Born in Amdo, in Northeastern Tibet, Dr. Nida began his early studies of Sowa Rigpa at the local Tibetan medical hospital. Later, he was awarded a scholarship to enter the Lhasa Mentseekhang or Tibetan Medical University, where he completed his degree in 1996, with practical training at the Tibetan Medicine hospitals in Lhasa and Lhoka.

Alongside his medical education, Dr. Nida trained in Vajrayana with teachers from every school of Tibetan Buddhism. In particular, he trained in the Longchen Nyingthig tradition of the Nyingma school with his root guru Ani Ngawang Gyaltsen and in the Dudjom Tersar tradition with Chönyi Rinpoche and Semo Dechen Yudrön. He received complete instruction in the Yuthok Nyingthig lineage, the unique spiritual tradition of Tibetan Medicine, from his teachers Khenpo Tsultrim Gyaltsen and Khenchen Troru Tsenam, and was requested to continue the Yuthok Nyingthig lineage by Jamyang Rinpoche of the Rebkong ngakpa and ngakma community.

A well-known poet in his youth, Dr. Nida later published many articles and books on Sowa Rigpa and the Yuthok Nyingthig tradition in Tibetan and English, which have been translated into several languages. He has extensively researched ancient Tibetan healing methods, and has gained acclaim in East and West for his revival of little-known Tibetan external therapies.
