Family Art Studio at the Skirball: Tzedakah Boxes

About this event

November's Family Art Studio project celebrates tzedakah, the Jewish tradition of helping others and working toward a fairer world. Kids decorate a one-of-a-kind box to take home and fill with coins for a cause, or with ideas for making the world a better place.

It's a hands-on way to start family conversations about giving right before the holiday season. The studio is drop-in, so families can come by anytime during their visit.

Make a day of it with the Inventing America: The Comic Book Revolution exhibition, the Discovery Center, and the weekend Archaeology Dig, all included with admission. Noah's Ark is also on site and requires a timed-entry ticket.

Thursdays: 12:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Saturdays and Sundays: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The studio runs during museum hours, so drop in anytime. Please check the website for exact times.

The museum is closed Thursday, November 26 (Thanksgiving).

All ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older, with at least one adult for every four children.

🎟️ Tickets/Price

Included with general admission: $20 general; $15 seniors, full-time students with ID, and children 2–17; free for members and children under 2. General admission is FREE for everyone on Thursdays. Walk-ups are welcome, but advance reservations are recommended, especially on free Thursdays.
