Forest Lawn's Veterans Day Celebration

About this event

Forest Lawn–Hollywood Hills rolls out the red, white and blue on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, for its annual Veterans Day Celebration, a heartfelt morning that honors the men and women who have served in the U.S. armed forces. This year’s ceremony also salutes America’s 250th birthday, making it a meaningful way for your family to mark the holiday together.

The program takes place outside the Hall of Liberty and is packed with moments kids will remember: a military flyover roaring across the sky, parachute jumpers with Chris Carnahan drifting down to the lawn, the LAPD Honor Guard presenting the colors, and a solemn wreath laying. The Los Angeles Police Concert Band, Scottish bagpipes and drums, and the St. Patrick’s Catholic School Drum Corps fill the hillside with patriotic music. Major Veronica L. Braxton of the California State Guard delivers the keynote, and a sign-language interpreter covers every speaker and song.

After the ceremony, stick around for refreshments and commemorative giveaways, then turn the morning into a living history lesson. The park’s 162-foot Birth of Liberty mosaic, a replica of Boston’s Old North Church filled with colonial-era rooms, a towering George Washington memorial and statues of Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson give school-age kids a hands-on look at the American Revolution and beyond.
