Hispanic Tuesdays: Research, Connect, and Discover Together

Looking for dedicated time to focus on your family history—with guidance and community? Join us on the third Tuesday of most months, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. , at the SCGS Family Research Library in Burbank for Hispanic Tuesdays .

Whether you’re just getting started or working through a research challenge, you’ll find a welcoming, genealogy-friendly space where you can dive into your work alongside others who share your passion. Need help with a specific question?

About the Program

Hispanic Tuesdays are sponsored by the Genealogical Society of Hispanic America – Southern California (GSHA-SC) , an ethnic interest group affiliated with SCGS. The group is dedicated to promoting Hispanic genealogical and historical research while celebrating the rich cultural traditions and contributions of Hispanic communities.

GSHA-SC Meetings & Community

In addition to Hispanic Tuesdays, GSHA-SC hosts larger quarterly gatherings at the SCGS Library—typically on the first Saturday of February, May, August, and December from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. These meetings feature engaging speakers or workshops, a casual (no-host) lunch break, and time to connect and research with others.

Meetings are free and open to the public , and guests are always welcome.

Most gatherings are offered in a hybrid format , with limited in-person seating at the SCGS Library (417 Irving Drive, Burbank) and additional attendees joining via Zoom.

Research Resources

The Southern California Chapter maintains a specialized collection at the SCGS Library, including Hispanic genealogical records, maps, family histories, and regional history books. Resources are especially strong for research in Arizona, California, Colorado, Mexico, New Mexico, and Texas .
